Bitmine revealed that it purchased an additional 28,086 ETH last week, which is approximately worth 70 million US dollars at their reference price, bringing the total holdings to 5.93 million. As the Ethereum treasury strategy continues to advance, this company is getting closer to its goal of holding 5% of the total Ethereum supply.
Holdings rise to 5.93 million ETH
The company stated that this additional purchase, calculated at a reference price of $2,495 per unit, is worth approximately $70 million, but the actual transaction cost was not disclosed. Compared to the previous week's purchase of 53,501 ETH, this increase in holdings is on a smaller scale.
Bitmine indicates that since the launch of the ETH treasury strategy on June 30, 2025, the company has been increasing its holdings of Ethereum on a weekly basis. Chairman Tom Lee stated in a declaration that the company's pace of continuously purchasing crypto assets in the public market is "unparalleled" among other enterprises.
The combined asset scale reaches $15.7 billion.
As of September 7, Bitmine valued its Ethereum holdings at approximately $14.8 billion, with the total value of combined crypto assets, cash, securities, and other investments amounting to around $15.7 billion.
- 5.93 million ETH
- 211 Bitcoins
- $593 million in cash and marketable securities
In addition, the company also holds approximately $180 million in shares of Beast Industries, as well as about $91 million in shares of Eightco Holdings.
Approximately 85% of the positions are already used for collateral.
Tom Lee indicates that the company has currently used approximately 5.1 million ETH for staking, accounting for about 85% of the total holdings. Based on current calculations, the annualized staking income is expected to be around 330 million US dollars.
While continuing to increase its holdings of ETH, it is still uncertain whether Bitmine will continue to buy after it has not yet reached the goal of holding 5% of the total supply. Tom Lee previously stated in May that the company would slow down its buying pace to avoid reaching this goal too early.
Peer companies are synchronously adjusting their configurations.
While Bitmine continues to increase its holdings on a weekly basis, other companies that manage digital asset portfolios are also adjusting their strategies. Strategy did not continue to buy Bitcoin during the week ending September 7th, whereas in the previous week they had purchased approximately $370 million. BTC also utilized $176.3 million to repurchase preferred stocks.
Nasdaq-listed asset management company Strive announced on August 31 that it had purchased $143 million in Bitcoin. Ethereum treasury company SharpLink plans to pledge $200 million in ETH through Lido in order to obtain pledge earnings.
Additional information:As disclosed in the original text, the merged assets of Bitmine also include equity investments in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings. This portion does not constitute holdings of crypto assets.
