Essential knowledge for switching from cryptocurrency to US stocks: Where do pre-market, after-hours, night trading, and 24-hour trading come from? US stock trading hours will become increasingly limited, eventually reaching 24 hours. Looking at its history will explain: 🔹 1985: The US stock market, represented by Nasdaq, only had morning and afternoon trading sessions; there was no after-hours trading. Similar to the A-share market: 🔹 1991: Trading volumes in London and Tokyo surged, but they were in different time zones from the US stock market. Without extended trading hours, global funds would have to go to local exchanges. Therefore, Nasdaq pioneered after-hours trading with ECN (Electronic Communication Network), extending trading hours by one hour (simply due to commercial competition). 🔹 1990s–2000: With frequent events such as financial reports, economic data releases, and geopolitical conflicts, often occurring during Asian or European trading sessions, US stocks would face significant gap risks and order outflows if after-hours trading wasn't offered. Therefore, major exchanges gradually extended after-hours trading hours, with the core objective of retaining orders and preventing them from being diverted. (Everyone understands now, everyone's vying for users) 🔹 2024: A historic step – US stocks officially launched 24-hour trading (night trading) 🔹 2026: 24-hour trading will become mainstream and standard 📌 The core reason is simple: Cryptocurrency and forex markets already offer 24/7 trading as a global standard. If you don't provide it, users will vote with their feet, and orders and liquidity will be transferred away. Times have changed; the market always votes with real money.

Breaking news: HBO late-night talk show host John Oliver launched a scathing attack on Trump regarding #Bitcoin# "Trump made $1.4 billion in one year from his family's cryptocurrency business." "This is the perfect tool to funnel money to him and his family." "They're lining their own pockets." "At least his sneaker and Bible businesses have some intrinsic value." Democrats are launching a full-scale attack on the Clarity Act. They're trying to kill the bill. 😡

🩸 The AI stock market guru collapsed on the eve of a rebound. Leopold, 24, a former OpenAI researcher and author of the 165-page article "Situational Awareness," saw his net worth increase by 439% in the first half of the year, with his fund reaching $45 billion in early July. Then, on July 30th, he dumped approximately $16 billion of his publicly traded equity holdings at a discount to Citadel, completing the transaction within 24 hours—one of the largest emergency asset sales on Wall Street in recent years. Even more dramatically, the stocks rebounded 15%-29% the day after the deal. This weekend, he was supposed to get married to Avital Balwit, chief of staff to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. On his wedding night, his account was wiped out. The SA fund's long positions were concentrated in SK Hynix, Micron, Sandisk, and CoreWeave, all of which fell by more than 35% in July; simultaneously, he shorted software stocks like Adobe, only to be caught in a double whammy of falling AI stocks and rising software stocks. A 4x leverage turned a bet on the right direction into a massacre due to a flawed timeframe. SK Hynix was one of the core targets in this AI infrastructure narrative. I wrote about its Q1 financial report recently: - Revenue: 52.6 trillion won (QoQ +60%, YoY +198%) - Operating profit: 37.6 trillion won (YoY +405%) - Operating profit margin: 72%, net profit margin: 77% - Net cash: 35 trillion won What does 72% mean? It means making 72 on a 100-dollar sale—that's unreasonable in manufacturing. It's even more ruthless than Nvidia's 65.6% and TSMC's 58.1% in the same period. So Leopold's mistake was using 4x leverage to bet on a narrative that wouldn't materialize for 2-3 years. The wedding proceeded as planned. Anthropic's equity remains (SA retains approximately $5 billion in Anthropic private equity), the fund has not been liquidated, but rather underwent a severe deleveraging process.

Malcolm Nance, from the United States, has just calculated the basis for Trump's claim of the "largest bombing campaign since World War II" and found it utterly untenable. His argument is that there were no B-52 bombers deployed, no large-scale mobilization of refueling aircraft (which were dispersed rather than assembled for actual strikes as usual), and he said he knew as early as Friday night that it wouldn't happen; the hardware actually intended for a large-scale operation was never deployed. Operation Desert Storm involved thousands of aircraft simultaneously. Operation Frontguard in Vietnam saw hundreds of B-52 bombers fly daily for six consecutive months. In Nance's view, the preparations this weekend are incomparable to those. He says what truly changed the situation was Mohammed bin Salman's (MBS) personal phone call to Trump, bluntly stating: "We'd rather have a deal than be attacked." Nance believes that moment marked a shift in power. Now, the Gulf states truly have the power to influence US military decisions, and Israel, like everyone else, learned of the cancellation of the agreement from a Truth Social post. It wasn't a briefing from Washington, nor from allies. Malcolm's analysis of the final outcome is thought-provoking: "Going all out" means deploying ground troops in a country four times the size of Iraq, something Washington has no interest in. This leaves only one path: Trump will pay whatever the Gulf states now want to facilitate the withdrawal, and that cost will be far higher than what he paid before tearing up the previous agreement. If the Gulf states decide when this war ends, how much influence does Washington still possess? @MalcolmNance

Last night, Trump was poised to strike Iran's energy infrastructure, but Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) may have stopped him with a single suggestive threat. Geopolitical analyst Brandon Weichert, who has sources in Saudi Arabia, has heard alarming news: MBS reportedly hinted to Trump that if a U.S. strike triggered Iranian retaliation against Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia would sell U.S. Treasury bonds to pay for repairs. This warning, at a time when bond markets are already under immense pressure, has sounded alarm bells in Washington. Saudi Arabia also reportedly threatened to deny the U.S. access to its military bases if Trump insisted on launching the attack. It was the same restrictions that led to the flawed "Operation Freedom" earlier this year. But Weichert did not declare the war over. He believes Trump has fallen into the sunk cost fallacy and cannot accept the fact that the world order is no longer dominated by the United States. His advice was: maintain the American fortress, strengthen defenses in the Western Hemisphere, prioritize trade over military expansion, emulate the George Washington model, and recognize that excessive imperialist expansion ultimately leads to the collapse of any empire. “We may survive in a multipolar era, but if we continue like this, we will collapse not only as an empire, but also as a nation.” It’s great to have you here again, @WeTheBrandon

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump was just hours away from striking Iran's energy infrastructure, but a deal may have pulled the world back from the brink. Pravin Sani, one of India's most respected defense analysts, analyzed what happened last night with me: Just hours after Qatar brokered a compromise on the Strait of Hormuz, Trump issued a "ready" statement. The deal allows ships to enter the Strait of Hormuz through Iranian territorial waters and exit through Omani waters. This arrangement allows Iran to effectively control ships entering and leaving the strait without completely blocking it. As Sani predicted, Iran denied the reports: "The Iranians always deny good news before an agreement is signed. They don't want to appease the markets; they want to continue putting pressure on Trump." But whatever the agreement, the US lacks sufficient military strength. Israel's integrated air defense system already has a limited number of destroyers, and its missiles and interceptors are severely worn out. So, what does Iran actually want? It's not just about the cost of the Strait of Hormuz, but about the complete withdrawal of US troops from the Middle East. This is precisely what Article 4 of the Memorandum of Understanding stipulates: withdrawal within 30 days of a final agreement. "Trump should stop making public threats and instead engage in serious closed-door negotiations; that's the only way to find a solution." An agreement is one step closer than yesterday, but still further away than anyone anticipated… Thanks to @PravinSawhney for participating in the discussion again.

What I learned from this experience with US stocks: 1. When the market is rising, don't let technical analysis convince you; when it's falling, don't let fundamental analysis convince you. 2. Avoid FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Don't go all in when you're in a frenzy. 3. Don't blindly follow the crowd. Sometimes the truth is on the side of the minority. 4. When a major trend reverses, be sure to cut your losses promptly. Completely change your mindset. Being willing to admit mistakes is a good quality. 5. Those who are out of the market shouldn't laugh at those who lost big by trying to buy Micron at the bottom. The magnitude of this drop was absolutely beyond our comprehension and expectations. I think this scene is comparable to a circuit breaker. My US stock market operations: 1. Shorted Micron at $983 on Binance, believing it might be the absolute high of this shorting cycle. I'm still holding the short position. 2. Added to my Micron short position on Hyperliquid at $930 and closed it at $800 for profit. 3. Shorted SanDisk on HL at $1580 and closed it at $1300 for profit. 4. I haven't bought the dip yet. My plan is to buy at 650-680, with a limit order at 670. I missed the opportunity after last night's sharp drop, so I'll continue to wait.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russian oil facilities were once again targeted by nighttime bombings, a consequence of long-standing sanctions against Ukraine. The Saratov oil refinery, the Engels airbase 600 kilometers behind the front lines, and the Lyutinovskaya oil depot in the Bryansk region were all attacked. Oh, and another wild berry logistics center was also affected. For Putin, this was destined to be a costly night. Author: Ian

The actions of some people in this world are outrageous. A victim had nearly 30 bitcoins stolen from a cold card, 17 of which were converted to Ethereum via @THORChain and then deposited into @Duelcomcasino. The victim and a researcher emailed all known addresses of @Duelcomcasino, requesting the funds be frozen and providing all transaction and deposit information. Downstream from the victim's approximately 30 bitcoins in the cold card, the hackers deposited 229,724,972,550 Ethereum (approximately $445,000) into this suspicious offshore casino. Despite Duel's anti-money laundering policy claiming they conduct KYC verification and comply with all relevant laws, Duel's response was to tell the victim to report it to the police. This response is infuriating. It is now past midnight in most of the Western world. Police reports will not be received until at least Monday. These criminals refused to freeze funds that have been confirmed to originate from a cyberattack. If they do not freeze the funds, they are accomplices in the theft. They received notification within minutes of the deposit being completed. If Duel doesn't freeze this money, they will face serious legal action. Duel's X account has been suspended, so I'm tagging anyone we can find who is associated with them (team members, resellers, and others). Let these people know they have to do the right thing. @korraflow @atrois7 @MiaMalkova
