According to CoinMeta, the "Dark Side of the Moon" has officially open-sourced the complete model weights of Kimi K3 .1 to Pro. This model was already put into use in late October with API. The newly released Hugging Face repository contains 96 weight shards, with a total volume of approximately 1.56 TB. Kimi K3 .1 continues to use the custom licensing terms of the previous generation K3, allowing for free use, modification, distribution, and commercialization, but with two special restrictions: large API service providers need to sign separate agreements, and very large-scale commercial products must include the model name. To reduce the risk of network attacks associated with the open weights, "Dark Side of the Moon" has removed content related to network attacks from the mid-term training data and reinforcement learning tasks, actively limiting the model's ability to be attacked through vulnerabilities. According to official internal tests, the unrestricted model had a pass rate of up to 90.5% in vulnerability exploitation tasks, which has dropped to 81.0% in the final released version.
