South Korean think tank: Beware of further adjustments to the Trump administration's tariff policy
2026-11-04 15:29:55
According to CoinMeta, the Korea Institute for Contemporary Economics released a report on the 4th stating that the monetary and fiscal policies of the Trump administration are essentially expansionary. The market is concerned that excessive liquidity may lead to increased volatility in financial and asset markets through concentrated phenomena. The institute analyzed that it is necessary to assess the possibility of a global financial market collapse. If expansionary fiscal policies are constrained by changes in the U.S. political landscape or if monetary policy becomes more restrictive due to enhanced independence of the Federal Reserve, such scenarios should be considered. The report also recommends that financial regulatory authorities focus on enhancing the internal resilience of domestic financial and asset markets, while strengthening monitoring of the inflow and outflow of overseas speculative capital. Additionally, the report points out the need to guard against the Trump administration potentially revising commodity tariffs and tariff rates applicable to various countries in an attempt to reverse declining support ratings, disregarding existing agreements.
