HSBC: The investment boom in AI may generate broader economic benefits
2026-11-04 14:59:38
According to CoinMeta, analysts at HSBC stated in a research report that the boom in artificial intelligence (AI) investment could bring broader benefits to the economy. The bank noted that recently released third-quarter data for GDP indicate that this trend may have begun to emerge in South Korea and Taiwan, China, helping to reduce the previously observed K-shaped divergence within these economies. HSBC mentioned that Taiwan, China, saw accelerated domestic demand growth in the third quarter, supported by increased capital expenditure and resilient consumption. The bank's analysts added that a similar trend has also appeared in South Korea, with growth in AI-related sectors seemingly gradually benefiting other domestic industries and driving consumption as well.
