According to CoinMeta, the hackers responsible for the major Binance attack are still continuously purchasing Bitcoin (BTC). According to the latest blockchain analysis data from Lookonchain, the hackers continue to exchange SOL for Bitcoin and transfer the stolen assets between multiple cryptocurrency wallets. The hacker's complex scheme involves dispersing SOL assets across different wallets, then selling SOL to obtain USDC, transferring USDC from Solana to Ethereum, using USDC to buy ETH, and finally exchanging the newly acquired ETH for BTC through Thorchain. This complex cross-chain transaction process allows the hackers to easily transfer funds between different blockchain networks, making it more difficult to track the stolen assets. According to Lookonchain data, the hackers attempted to convert approximately 970,522 SOL (worth about $95.9 million at the time) into Bitcoin. In just one hour, the hackers completed transactions involving 486,970 SOL (about $46.4 million). Despite facing regulatory scrutiny from various parties, the hackers continue to move the stolen funds between different networks.
