According to CoinMeta, on the early morning of November 4th, Apple released the iOS 27.3 developer test version, and users of the Chinese version of Apple's devices (iPhone) can finally use Apple Smart Assistant. The first batch of features available include photo removal, AI writing, real-time translation, notification summaries, and smart drawing emojis, among others. Apple Smart Assistant was launched overseas as early as 2024, and Chinese users had to wait for over two years to get access to the test version. Although the Chinese version of Apple Smart Assistant is integrated with Alibaba's Qianwen (a natural language processing service), the basic functions are still processed by Apple's own developed models. Users can submit photos, PDF, and PPT to Qianwen for recognition and analysis, while the writing tool allows Qianwen to generate articles and images directly. Users need to actively enable this feature, and Apple will seek their consent before each time they send a question, photo, or document. Alibaba has stated that it will not use this data for model training. Apple plans to launch the official version in December, but iPad and Mac are still subject to approval.
