According to CoinMeta, OpenAI announced that the old version of the Mac client, ChatGPT Classic, will be discontinued on January 30, 2027. Users need to migrate to the new version, ChatGPT. Their existing chat records will be retained. In July of this year, OpenAI launched a new desktop application, replacing the native macOS client with Electron, and also integrated Chat, Work, and Codex together.
