Ignas criticizes KAST's token scheme: huge investment in legal compliance, unclear user benefits

According to CoinMeta, researcher Ignas criticizes the current crypto industry for being increasingly dominated by legal counsel. Citing the views of Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, he argues that companies led by lawyers may avoid trouble, but they might also lose their ability to innovate as a result. Regarding the recent points conversion scheme announced by KAST, Ignas states that even if project teams spend millions of dollars hiring lawyers, it is still unclear what benefits users will ultimately receive. Tokens often fail to align with the interests of the community and can even become tools for teams or insiders to gain advantages, lacking ownership and other legal rights. However, tokens may still possess functions that equity does not provide. Ignas calls on project teams to invest resources in designing tokens that truly align with the community's interests and includes KAST along with Pump, OpenSea, and MetaMask on what he refers to as a “list of disappointments,” suggesting that these projects have failed to fulfill their previous promises.
