Alphabet Launches the Second Round of Eurobond Issuance This Year
2026-11-02 15:33:45
According to CoinMeta, Google’s parent company Alphabet has launched its second euro bond issuance of the year. This issuance is planned to be carried out in seven phases and represents another move by large technology companies to raise funds for investments in artificial intelligence. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the bond terms for this issuance range from 2 to 19 years. The preliminary price guidance for the shortest-term fixed-rate bonds is about 60 basis points higher than the medium-term swap rate, while the yield spread for the longest-term bonds is approximately 205 to 210 basis points. Barclays Bank, BNP Paribas, and Deutsche Bank are responsible for this bond issuance, which is expected to be priced later on Monday. As the scale and speed of such bond issuances continue to increase, investors are beginning to show signs of fatigue, and the demand attracted by recent bond offerings has weakened. As a result, issuers have had to price the bonds with higher yield spreads, which has pushed up the cost of debt financing.
