OneKey Founder Warning: iPhone Models 11 and Earlier Pose Risks to Encrypted Wallets
2026-11-01 17:00:58
According to CoinMeta, OneKey founder Wang Yi warns that iPhone models from 2011 and earlier versions have security risks regarding encrypted wallets, and advises users not to store their wallet seeds on these devices. He pointed out that these older iPhone models have chip-level security vulnerabilities that can still be exploited even after restoring factory settings or disconnecting from the internet. Wang Yi also mentioned that some iPhone models released before 2020 have system startup vulnerabilities that Apple is unable to fix through software updates. Recent jailbreak demonstrations of iPhone have raised doubts about whether it is safe to store encrypted wallet seeds on older phones. Wang Yi suggests that affected users should create new wallets in a secure environment, rather than simply generating new addresses from their existing wallet seeds.
