AAVE Suspends tBTC Minting and Redemption Services, Implementing Preventive Freezing
2026-10-31 19:11:58
According to CoinMeta, and based on official messages from AAVE, in response to Threshold Network, AAVE has proactively suspended the mining and redemption services for tBTC and carried out a preventive freeze on the tBTC reserves for the Ethereum core market related to AAVE V3. This measure is intended to prevent any increase in exposure during the suspension period. During this time, new tBTC deposits will be halted, as well as functions such as lending, repayments, withdrawals, and collateral liquidation for existing users will continue to operate normally. The liquidation threshold has not been changed, and the freeze itself will not trigger the liquidation of any existing positions. Additionally, the AAVE reserves on Base and Arbitrum had already been frozen within the asset disposal process; this action does not affect other asset reserves or the market.
