Binance CEO: $6.34 billion to cover hackers' losses
2026-10-31 02:44:05
According to CoinMeta, Binance CEO Richard Teng stated that Binance will use over $6.34 billion in company funds to cover the losses caused by this week's hacker attack and promised the safety of customer assets. In a video speech on Friday, he pointed out that customer funds were not affected, as the vast majority of user assets are stored in cold wallets and are only transferred to hot wallets when users request withdrawals. Teng also mentioned that the hacker attack was not carried out by a single individual; initial investigations indicated that it originated from a compromised laptop, but more entry points were subsequently discovered. Binance plans to restore withdrawals by Sunday and conduct a comprehensive security review.
