According to CoinMeta, the newton Foundation stated on social media that the attackers in the Binance theft incident transferred approximately 8 million newt tokens and 17 other types of tokens to a newt token contract address, with a total value of about 3.5 million US dollars. This contract was designed to be immutable and without any owner or administrator privileges; the relevant management rights were relinquished on the blockchain in 2025, and upgrades to the contract were permanently prohibited, resulting in these tokens being irretrievable.
