According to CoinMeta, a senior member of the Shiba Inu community, Mazrael, warned that approximately 500 billion SHIB (0.05% of the total supply, worth nearly $2.3 million) were transferred to an address labeled “binance hot wallet exploiter 2” ( 0x5227f603c1ee34ce3c06efe6477003bdfccb2f8c ). This incident occurred after the recent Binance hacking attack, which is estimated to have had a total impact of about $6.3 billion. Mazrael reported that hackers held 499,926,072,560 SHIB, and shared screenshots of relevant data. This address is labeled as “exploit” and “heist” and currently holds 49.9 billion SHIB, worth about $2.25 million. An investigation by Binance revealed that this security incident involved a laptop belonging to an engineer from DevOps who was compromised by attackers. The attackers used this device to gain access to service containers and executed unauthorized withdrawal transactions.
