onekey Founder yishi: Attackers can steal assets by hacking the signature system
2026-10-30 14:02:02
According to CoinMeta, the founder of onekey, yishi, stated that security incidents at Binance and previously at bybit have shown that even if wallet private keys are not leaked, attackers can still steal assets by compromising the signature approval system. BlackRock holds approximately 815,000 BTC bitcoins through its ETF IBIT product, valued at around $63 billion. These assets are currently mainly managed by Coinbase. Although an additional custodian, Anchorage Digital, has been appointed, there are no plans for asset transfer for now. yishi pointed out that BlackRock has not purchased separate insurance for the bitcoins held by IBIT. The commercial crime insurance coverage for Coinbase is $320 million, shared among multiple clients, and the custody agreement stipulates a maximum liability of $100 million per cold storage address. In the event of a major theft where assets cannot be recovered or full compensation is not obtained, the losses may be borne by the holders of ETF. Currently, there is no evidence indicating that IBIT has become a target of attack.
