Zhao Changpeng, co-founder of Binance, stated that the activity appears to be hacking, resulting in the freezing of nearly $1.8 billion in assets by stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle. A Binance spokesperson said that the security team is reviewing the incident and will provide updates after confirming more information.
