2026-10-30 03:19:57
According to CoinMeta, the prediction market Polymarket has encountered a major security vulnerability, with nearly 1,000 accounts being hacked and resulting in losses of over $2.6 million. Blockchain analyst Conor Grogan revealed that a total of 995 accounts were attacked, with losses amounting to about $2.65 million. The hackers converted all the stolen funds into the native token of Polygon ( POL ) to avoid having the funds frozen. The analyst also pointed out that the attackers stole approximately $2.68 million in just one hour. This attack may have been caused by third-party JavaScript components embedded on the Polymarket website being compromised by hackers. The company stated that it has identified and fixed the issue affecting its international platform and has reported it to the relevant law enforcement authorities. Affected users will receive compensation.
