New York Stock Exchange plans to launch all-or-nothing options on Apple, Tesla, and NVIDIA

According to CoinMeta, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is preparing to launch all-or-nothing options on Apple, Tesla, and NVIDIA, while seeking approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for contracts related to company earnings. These new contracts will allow investors to speculate on whether the stocks of these companies will close above or below a predetermined price, offering fixed payments rather than returns linked to stock price fluctuations. According to Reuters, the NYSE is expected to start trading these binary return options within a few days after the announcement on October 27th, initially covering 12 securities, including the S&P 500 index. Unlike traditional stock options, binary options are settled at a predetermined amount when specific conditions are met. The NYSE's expansion plan also includes contracts directly related to company performance indicators, which will be settled at $1 or zero, depending on whether the reported figures meet specified thresholds. Although their structure is similar to popular predictive market contracts, there are differences between these options and traditional predictive market contracts in terms of regulatory framework.
