U.S. core PCE rose 3.1% year-on-year in September; Fed may raise interest rates by 25 basis points in December

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Cailian News on October 29th, data released by the US Department of Commerce showed that in September, the US personal consumption expenditure price index rose by 3.6% year-on-year, and the core personal consumption expenditure price index, excluding food and energy prices, rose by 3.1% year-on-year. Analysts believe that due to the impact of geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East driving up international oil prices, the increase in energy costs led to a rebound in overall inflation in September. The market is concerned to see whether companies will pass on these fuel costs to consumers. The core PCE is the inflation indicator that the Federal Reserve (Fed) values most; its service sector sub-item reflects whether domestic price pressures are persistent. Once data for this sub-item continues to rise, financial markets will place more bets on the Fed raising interest rates by 25 basis points at its meeting in December this year.
