According to CoinMeta, the United States may soon resume military actions against Iran, leading to renewed concerns about disruptions in Middle Eastern energy supplies. As a result, crude oil benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded around $101.20 per barrel in early Asian trading on Thursday. Dennis Kissler, senior vice president of trading at the American financial services company BOK Financial, stated that the crude oil futures market has once again begun to factor in expectations of short-term supply tightness. TD Securities expects that crude oil prices may continue to be supported in the short term, as the risk of escalation in conflicts before Israel's elections and U.S. midterms remains high. Analysts pointed out that recent attacks by Houthi militants have pushed up the risk premium in the market, and Iran's ongoing attacks on oil tankers seem to have successfully reduced the flow of crude oil transported through the Strait of Hormuz, further reinforcing the geopolitical risk premium in current oil prices.
