According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Axios, a U.S. official stated that Vice President Mike Pence has written to Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Khamenei, emphasizing that any negotiations aimed at preventing a U.S. military strike “need to address nuclear issues.” This letter focuses on the possibility of resuming talks between the United States and Iran and represents the highest-level contact between the two countries in several months. Pence suggested that President Donald Trump send this letter to Khamenei. The U.S. official said, “President Trump is positive about this letter.” However, he refused to disclose the timing of the letter's dispatch. On Wednesday local time, Trump told reporters that Pence’s letter was intended to help Iran obtain the medical supplies it needs. Previously, The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on this “letter.”
