According to CoinMeta, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the United States voted 10 to 2 to maintain the benchmark interest rate within the target range of 3.75% to 4.00%. FOMC member Lisa Cook and Cleveland Fed Chair Beth Harker voted against the decision, preferring a 25-basis-point interest rate hike. The Fed stated, "The accumulation of more information will help the committee determine an appropriate policy stance to ensure that inflation returns to the 2% target in a timely manner." At the same time, the Fed tweaked the wording of its statement, saying that economic activity is expanding at a "strong" pace, and reiterated that "although uncertainties remain high due to some geopolitical developments, domestic spending has shown resilience." The Fed also reiterated that employment growth is "keeping pace with labor supply, and there has been little change in the unemployment rate."
