YC Report: Crypto Applications Led by Institutions, Focus on Stablecoins and AI Financing in the Next Six Months
2026-10-29 01:25:46
According to CoinMeta, in its report on the entrepreneurial trends in the crypto industry released in October 2026, it was noted that for the first time in the past year, applications in the crypto sector have been led by institutions rather than consumers. The main driving forces have shifted from speculation to practical financial needs such as hedging against oil price risks and cross-border capital transfers by enterprises. YC predicts that assets such as stablecoins, stocks, debt, commodities, and property rights will be further tokenized. New types of assets, such as equity in startups and small securities worth less than $10,000, will also be issued through blockchain, promoting the development of financial services such as trading, lending, and derivatives. In the next six months, YC will focus on using blockchain for financing in the AI industry, new types of US dollar and non-US dollar stablecoins targeting niche markets, new banks based on stablecoins, the tokenization of real-world assets, new trading platforms and interfaces, as well as AI and agent trading and related API infrastructure. YC believes that blockchain technology and stablecoins may pose challenges to traditional stock exchanges and the banking system respectively.
