According to CoinMeta, seven companies including JPMorgan Chase, Coca-Cola, and Dell Technologies have joined the ranks of those opposing the tokenization of stocks on exchanges OKX and ICE. The list of opponents has now grown to 33, an increase from 26 the previous day. This list has expanded rapidly; it was only 9 companies on October 15th, increased to 16 on October 19th, and reached 22 on October 23rd. Early opponents included Microsoft, Google's parent company Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Intel, and Oracle. JPMorgan Chase is the third major bank to raise objections, with Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo being the first two. Under the innovative exemption provisions of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), exchanges are required to notify companies before offering tokenized versions of their stocks provided by unrelated third parties. If a company objects in writing within 30 days, the exchange will not be able to offer that stock for trading. OKX-ICE TSV is a 50-50 joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, and OKX American Holdings, which plans to allow approved users to trade tokenized U.S. stocks 24/7.
