CZ: Four data breaches occurred today, users should strengthen their account security measures
2026-10-28 12:53:46
According to CoinMeta, Binance founder CZ posted on the X platform that today there were 4 reported data breaches involving Coinbase's third-party service provider Amplitude, South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb, as well as South Korean financial institutions Future Asset and Daishin Securities. The security incident at Amplitude affected the contact information of some Coinbase users, but their funds were not compromised. CZ pointed out that the leaked information could be used for phishing and SIM card fraud, and recommended that users set up separate emails and strong passwords for different platforms, preferentially use hardware security keys, avoid two-factor authentication via SMS, and enable a whitelist for withdrawal addresses and anti-phishing codes. At the same time, users should regularly check their account login sessions and API key permissions, and be wary of scams impersonating customer service. In case of a data breach, users should promptly change their passwords, revoke any unnecessary API keys, and check their withdrawal records to be alert to phishing attacks that may utilize the leaked information.
