Myriad Markets: BNB Chain predicts the market will be hacked
2026-10-28 08:29:55
According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Defiant, the prediction market platform Myriad Markets on BNB Chain issued a report confirming that one of its internal administrator wallets, used for automatically creating and adjudicating markets, had been hacked. On October 26th, the attackers cashed out by forcibly adjudicating outcomes, affecting 10 prediction markets including those related to OpenAI and Anthropic IPO, Base's coin issuance in 2026, and the U.S. mid-term elections. Myriad subsequently revoked the permissions of that wallet and announced that the aforementioned 10 affected markets were voided, pledging to have fully recovered the funds, although on-chain data indicates that the funds were transferred to other addresses. The platform will automatically refund the funds to both long and short positions based on the "last transaction price before the attack" (after deducting any improperly claimed bonuses), and users do not need to apply for compensation manually. The vulnerability stemmed from a leak in a third-party backend library several weeks prior.
