According to CoinMeta, Chinese giants Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance are seeking to sign a 10-year memory chip agreement with Samsung and SK Hynix, which is expected to last until 2035. According to reports, large American tech companies are also securing their supply. Analysts predict that these companies will account for 68% of the capital expenditures of major cloud service providers in 2027, compared to 47% in 2026. These advancements will help systems process data faster and enable the storage of large datasets and models required by these technologies. As large tech companies invest billions of dollars in building data centers, memory chip manufacturers may lock in demand for many years and gain stronger pricing power.
