According to CoinMeta, and based on an article referenced as pymnts, a report jointly compiled with fis indicates that 42% of the financial institutions surveyed believe that a shortage of professionals is hindering the adoption of digital assets. Additionally, 55% of banks consider institutional-level infrastructure and operational support to be key factors in driving adoption. The report cites industry surveys stating that 88% of banks have already invested in or planned budgets for digital asset infrastructure by 2026, and 68% of financial institutions plan to collaborate with crypto-native companies to expand their trading, custody, and tokenization services. Industry experts estimate that about 80%-85% of the work involved in banks integrating digital asset services relates to internal system integration and regulatory compliance. The report argues that for banks to advance services such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits, they not only need the relevant technology but also professional talent with experience in integrating bank systems, managing compliance, and operating such services.
