According to CoinMeta, and as reported by U.Today, a Bitcoin wallet that had been dormant for about six years has just transferred its entire balance of 4,582 BTC coins, which is approximately equivalent to $377.58 million at current prices. Blockchain data shows that the transfer occurred about 7 hours ago, with the funds moving from an address starting with 18vmxvk to a new address starting with bc1q295 and four other addresses. The wallet acquired these 4,582 BTC coins six years ago, which were worth around $40.81 million at that time; since then, their value has more than ninefolded, representing an increase of about $337 million. The wallet also transferred 0.009 BTC coins, worth about $495, to a well-known trading company Cumberland several years ago. Although it is not yet clear why the holder transferred these coins, it could be in preparation to sell them, move them to a safer wallet, or simply to reorganize their funds. Transfers of large amounts of coins often attract market attention, and sudden transfers of dormant coins can particularly cause concern among traders.
