CoinMeta data: South Korea's KOSPI index tumbled 6.5% today, falling to around 6,002 points, with stocks such as Samsung and SK Hynix declining by 9%. This decline is due to Chinese chip manufacturer ChangXin Memory ( CXMT ) announcing the launch of a new 4F2 memory cell design, which may pose greater competitive pressure on South Korean semiconductor giants. The AI cryptocurrency sector was also affected, with an overall decline of 7.7%, including tokens such as NEAR, ICP, FET, and TAO falling by 10%. In addition, foreign capital withdrew nearly 2 trillion Korean won (about $1.5 billion) on October 12, putting further pressure on the market.
