Singapore Monetary Authority: Tokenized financial markets need to rely on secure digital currencies
2026-10-13 12:02:03
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Crowdfundinsider, Heng Chee Kang, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), stated that the large-scale settlement of tokenized finance must rely on secure and credible digital currencies, and central bank funds will ultimately be the anchor for maintaining monetary stability. Currently, MAS is preparing to use wholesale CBDC to settle tokenized MAS bills, and is also continuously pushing forward with legislative amendments for a single currency stablecoin. In the future, they may consider allowing systemically important stablecoins access to central bank reserves. Additionally, in response to the risk management challenges posed by AI smart agents executing financial transactions, MAS has jointly released the "Runtime Agent Financial Protection" (SAFR 1.1) white paper with the industry to establish compliance benchmarks.
