Iranian Security Chief: The digital infrastructure in the Middle East is under threat

According to CoinMeta, as reported by Benzinga, Iran's security chief, Mohammad Rezaei, has warned that in the event of an escalation in conflicts with the United States, key digital infrastructure in the Middle East, including data centers, artificial intelligence facilities, and undersea cables, could become targets of attack. This warning came amid stalled negotiations in the Strait of Hormuz. Rezaei stated that the U.S. response to Iran's peace proposals was "insufficient," noting that Washington accepted some conditions but did not address other issues. Iran submitted a revised proposal at the recent United Nations General Assembly, seeking to end the conflict and restore normal shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite the U.S. rejection of this proposal, both sides continue to communicate through intermediaries. Rezaei also warned that another round of major conflicts could threaten regional technological infrastructure, affecting telecommunications networks and cloud services. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy has warned ships not to disable their navigation systems, stating that such actions could be seen as hostile. This warning was issued after an increase in attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, adding uncertainty to energy exports and global shipping.
