Spanish police crack two cases of cryptocurrency fraud and money laundering

According to CoinMeta, and as reported by criptonoticias, Spanish police have recently cracked down on two cases involving cryptocurrency fraud and money laundering, with a total amount involved of about 760,000 euros (approximately 870,000 US dollars). In one case, a gang of four suspected of running a Ponzi scheme through fake cryptocurrency investments affected 113 victims, with a fraud amount of around 327,000 euros. Additionally, according to a statement from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior, the national police dismantled a cyberfraud and money laundering organization, arresting 44 individuals who affected at least 146 victims, resulting in losses exceeding 430,000 euros. The organization converted illegal gains into crypto assets to conceal the flow of funds, and the police seized crypto assets worth about 54,000 euros.
