The company was founded in 2023 by two former a16z and crypto executives, with investors including Coinbase Ventures, Sony Innovation Fund, and Samsung Next. bastion became a stablecoin partner of Sony Bank in 2025, enabling Sony to introduce stablecoin payments into its gaming and entertainment ecosystem.
