Radix Attacked by Engine Vulnerability, Assets Stolen
2026-09-19 09:11:58
According to CoinMeta, a report published by Radix Foundation indicates that attackers exploited a vulnerability in Radix Engine to extract assets from third-party vaults and then transferred them across chains to networks such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana for sale. The vulnerability originated from code maintenance in June 2023, and an audit conducted by Zellic in August 2024 did not detect this issue. Approximately three hours after the incident occurred, validators from Radix took proactive measures to offline their staked shares, causing the network to stop reaching consensus and preventing the further exploitation of the vulnerability. Affected assets included ETH, WBTC, USDT, USDC, BNB, and SOL, among others. Radix has since completed the repair of the vulnerability and undergone review tests; efforts are currently underway to restore the network to normal operation.
