CoinMeta data: A hacker attack on Haruko affected 15 crypto customers, and some clients of small hedge funds may have lost assets. This cyberattack exposed details of the customers' read-only exchange application interface (API) and transaction data. The affected customers were all non-whitelist clients of Haruko. Haruko used bare metal servers instead of cloud services, which led to this security vulnerability. The company stated that it has fixed the vulnerability and updated the security keys on the server side. This incident occurred against the backdrop of an increasing frequency of attacks in the crypto industry; 207 attack incidents were recorded in the first half of 2026, resulting in losses of $972 million.
