The US SEC plans to promote 24-hour trading and support tokenized securities

According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to transform its traditional trading system to a 24-hour trading model suitable for the crypto industry. SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated at a roundtable meeting at its Washington headquarters that trading events will no longer be limited by market hours, allowing investors to respond to events more quickly. The SEC also announced that it will provide new exemptions for companies wishing to conduct tokenized securities trading, permitting them to be exempt from strict securities regulations for a period of five years. Atkins believes that tokenization helps the securities industry achieve real-time inventory management, improve efficiency, and reduce the risk of settlement failures. Although extending trading hours may bring about greater price volatility and technical issues, the SEC is still moving forward with this plan.
