According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government released its 2026 policy address, further expanding the use of digital assets in traditional financial markets. The Securities and Futures Commission will improve the licensing system for virtual assets and the regulatory framework for tokenized investment products, promoting the issuance and trading of gold and other suitable assets on licensed platforms. Hong Kong also plans to normalize the issuance of digital bonds and explore the use of digital currencies for settlement, dividend distribution, and redemption throughout the asset lifecycle. The Monetary Authority of Hong Kong will test the tokenization of over HK$1.3 trillion in Exchange Fund bills by the end of the year and aims to achieve 24/7 settlement and operation by the same time.
