Circle Launches ARC Blockchain, Surpassing $74 Billion in USDC Stablecoins

CoinMeta Data: On Wednesday, Circle launched its ARC blockchain, marking its greatest effort in surpassing the $74 billion USDC stablecoin market. The CEO of Jeremy Allaire stated that this is the most important platform launch in the company's history, even more influential than USDC itself. As banks and payment companies enter the competition, the stablecoin market is becoming increasingly fierce. Twenty-one financial institutions, including Bank of America, Citibank, and Goldman Sachs, are preparing dollar stablecoins for the first half of 2027, while a European banking consortium Qivalis is developing euro tokens. Circle aims to compete through ARC, which it describes as a universal “economic operating system” for payments, tokenized financial markets, lending, and trading. The founding validators of ARC include Blackstone, DTCC, Intercontinental Exchange, Mastercard, Standard Chartered, and Visa; in addition, over 100 institutions and ecosystem companies are exploring this network.
