According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the UK has issued new guidelines to help crypto businesses understand the scope of application of the future crypto asset regulation in the UK and the services that may require authorization. The relevant regulations will come into effect on October 25, 2027, and applications for authorization will be open from September 30, 2026. These cover activities such as the issuance of compliant stablecoins, the operation of crypto asset trading platforms, transaction matching, crypto asset custody, and pledge services. The UK government has recently made targeted adjustments to the relevant laws, adding some exemptions and clarifications regarding the scope of application for technical service providers. The FCA plans to start consultations on the update of these guidelines in October.
