According to CoinMeta, the CoinEx exchange has announced that it will officially close down during the cold winter of the crypto market, ending its nearly decade-long operation. Due to ongoing low activity, declining trading volume and liquidity, as well as increasing regulatory and compliance costs in major jurisdictions, CoinEx will cease futures trading on September 22 and spot trading on September 29, with all withdrawals being closed by December 22, 2026. The exit of CoinEx marks another significant blow to small centralized exchanges, as the crypto market is increasingly dominated by large centralized and decentralized exchanges, with regulatory costs continuously squeezing small participants.
