According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Chairman Paul Atkins stated that the United States should continue to advance crypto regulatory reforms and urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act bill as soon as possible. Even if the bill is not passed, SEC will continue to advance relevant policies under the existing authority. Atkins highlighted three key areas of work: promoting Regulation Crypto Assets, providing clearer rules for financing of crypto projects and updating the conditions for contract termination; revising the transfer agency rules that have not been significantly adjusted in about 40 years; and establishing a new framework for the custody of crypto assets, allowing investment advisors to custodiate crypto assets on their own under certain conditions or to use state-licensed trust companies. He said that these measures will together constitute a regulatory framework for the issuance, trading, transfer, and custody of crypto assets.
