Zcash Mining Revenue Surpasses Bitcoin, but Competition Intensifies

According to CoinMeta, the mining revenue of Zcash ( ZEC ) has become exceptionally substantial after the price of ZEC soared. Research estimates that the income per machine and per unit of electricity is much higher than that of Bitcoin, although the rapidly increasing competition in the network is testing how long this advantage will last. The mining economy of Bitcoin is still larger, with miners generating a combined income of about 35 million US dollars per day, while the revenue of the Zcash network is around 2 million US dollars. The research director Zach Pandl attributes the main reason for this difference to the strong price performance of ZEC. The increase in price has raised the dollar value of the block rewards obtained by miners, even though the network's reward mechanism has not changed. As a result, miners have a strong incentive to deploy more equipment. The mining competition of Zcash is not necessarily negative; the additional Equihash computing power increases the resources required to attack the proof-of-work network. Grayscale believes that a strong mining economy may create a feedback loop that attracts miners and enhances network security.
