According to Bloomberg, Ray Takikhi, a senior researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations, said that the renewed attacks by Houthi forces represent a major setback to the U.S. strategy of stabilizing regional oil flows and may indicate closer coordination between the group and Iran. Takikhi also told hosts David Gura and Christina Rafini that economic pressures have not succeeded in forcing Tehran to change its course, as new construction at the deeply buried Natanz nuclear facility has raised doubts about the future of Iran's nuclear program.
