Financial and crypto institutions jointly write to the EU, urging the removal of limits on the scale of tokenized securities

According to CoinMeta, a joint alliance composed of financial and crypto organizations such as NASDAQ, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange Group, the French Digital Assets Association, the Innovation Crypto Committee, and the European Ethereum Association, has officially written to the European Council and the European Parliament, urging regulators to completely remove the cap on the scale of tokenized securities in the EU’s distributed ledger technology (DLT) pilot program, or at least to significantly raise it from the 10 billion euros proposed by the European Commission to 1.5 trillion euros (about 1.74 trillion US dollars). The alliance pointed out that the European Commission previously planned to raise the original cap of 6 billion euros to 10 billion euros due to insufficient participation in the pilot program, but this adjustment still cannot meet the actual needs of the explosive growth of global institutional-level tokenized assets. Currently, the scale of some existing projects in Europe has reached 350 billion euros and is still expanding.
