According to CoinMeta, XRP Ledger ( XRPL ) is testing post-quantum signatures and validators with project Eleven, while Algorand has launched Falcon accounts with the goal of achieving widespread quantum resistance by 2027. XRPL validators have questioned the claim that Algorand is fully quantum-ready, pointing out that quantum-safe accounts are just one layer of protection. Algorand began using post-quantum signatures in state proofs in 2022 to protect the proof of historical ledgers, but its consensus system still relies partially on cryptography that may be threatened by quantum computers. Ripple is collaborating with project Eleven to conduct a comprehensive assessment of XRPL, including validators, custodians, wallets, and the network. Algorand plans to research post-quantum verifiable random functions in early 2027 and aims to achieve widespread quantum resistance by the end of 2027. XRP traded at around $1.43 on Thursday, falling by about 1%-2% within the day, and has declined by more than 50% compared to last year.
