According to CoinMeta, Circle has announced a sponsorship agreement with Chelsea Football Club. Starting from the 2026/27 season, USDC will appear on the jerseys of Chelsea's men's, women's, and youth teams. This collaboration was reached against the backdrop of regulatory oversight of crypto sponsors by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Circle is the first regulated crypto company to receive such sponsorship. Although FCA had warned the club not to sign with “suspicious” sponsors, Circle, as a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange and holding multiple international licenses, is able to pass compliance reviews. This move marks the advancement of stablecoins in global football and is expected to attract the attention of millions of viewers.
