India’s state-owned power financing company completes its first tokenized corporate bond issuance

According to CoinMeta, as reported by cnbctv18, India's state-owned power financing company REC has completed the issuance of India's first tokenized corporate bond under the regulatory sandbox framework of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The bond issuance amounted to approximately 5 billion rupees and attracted subscriptions of around 7.96 billion rupees, representing nearly 8 times over-subscription. The bond has a coupon rate of 7.30% and a maturity period of 1 year and 9 months. The payment, allocation, and listing were all completed on the same day, and the bonds have been listed on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This pilot project introduced atomic bond payment for settlement and licensed distributed ledger recording.
