According to CoinMeta, on Tuesday, India's financial intelligence authorities (FIU-IND) issued violation notices to 15 entities for providing services to Indian customers without registration, in accordance with Section 13 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act. These entities include Weex, Blofin, Rezorex, Bitunix, Digifinex, Toobit, XT.com, Latoken, Pionex, Changenow, Simpleswap, Fixedfloat, Whitebit, and Guardarian. Since March 2023, India has required crypto platforms serving Indian customers to complete registration and fulfill anti-money laundering obligations such as user identity verification, transaction record keeping, and reporting of suspicious activities. FIU-IND also reminded that crypto products and NFT are unregulated and carry higher risks. Previously, Binance had completed its registration but was fined Rs. 1.882 billion (about $240 million) for anti-money laundering violations.
